A commanding portrait of Napoleon Bonaparte ( 1769 - 1821 ) in military uniform, gazing piercingly to his right, is vividly rendered in aquatint with hand painted finishes. The image is framed in highly ornate brass which in turn is set in a velvet lined oval box having its own heavily etched bronze frame with foliate swags. The condition of the portrait is nearly immaculate, with the framing in superb condition. The box is supported by a retractable easel stand, making it suitable for either wall or table display.

The vibrancy of the portrait colors is unmatched, the oval domed glazing protecting it over the years.
