A fine Georgian mahogany rectangular tea caddy with bail handle and diamond shaped lock escutcheon. The interior is fitted with 2 compartments for holding tea, and a center receptacle for the cut glass mixing bowl which we deem to be of the period. Gold accents which we do not believe are inlays decorate the edges of the ivory knop lids.
Condition is very good meaning that the wood has occasional blemishes, and the interior lining appears to be later than original, though still old. Overall the condition is quite lovely, wearing an attractive patina for this early 19th century tea caddy.
